Rules for
Election to the Women in Poker Hall of Fame
1. Authorization
— The Board of the Women in Poker
Hall of Fame, is authorized to hold an election every year
for the purpose of electing members to the Women in Poker
Hall of Fame from the ranks of women poker players and
industry leaders.
2. Electors
— Only active and honorary members of the Board of the
Women in Poker Hall of Fame, who have been active in poker
as a player or industry professional for at least seven (7)
years, shall be eligible to vote. All Women in Poker Hall of
Fame inductees have permanent voting rights.
3. Eligible
Candidates for Induction — Candidates to be eligible must meet
the following requirements:

A
candidate must have been active as a player or
industry leader for a minimum of 15 years prior
to election. (January
1994 to present, is the minimum amount of time.)

Player/industry leader must have contributed to
the world of poker in some significant way.
This person can qualify by either winning major
poker tournaments, or by making
significant contributions to the industry of
poker.

Player/industry leader must be a proponent
of women's poker. Even is she does not play in
women's events, she must support them.
4. Method of
Election

WiPHOF Screening
Committee — The Screening Committee is comprised of the
members of the WiPHOF Board and past years inductees.
The duty of the Screening Committee shall be to prepare
a ballot, listing eligible
candidates who received a nomination on a minimum of five
percent (5%) of the nominations cast during the
nomination process or (2) are
nominated by any two of the members of the Screening
Committee.

Electors may vote for
as few as zero (0) and as many as four (4) eligible
candidates deemed worthy of election. Write-in votes are
not permitted.

Any candidate
receiving votes on seventy-five percent (75%) of the
ballots cast shall be elected for induction in the Women
in Poker Hall of Fame.
5. Voting
— Voting shall be based upon the candidates record, playing
ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and
contributions to the world of poker.
6. Automatic
Elections — No automatic elections based on
performances such winning a major poker tournament or similar outstanding
achievement shall be permitted.
7. Time of
Election — The duly authorized representatives of
the WiPHOF shall prepare a vehicle to offer nominations to the
general membership no later than five months in advance each year in
which an election is held. The vote shall then be tabulated
by the duly authorized representatives of the Women in Poker
Hall of Fame.
8. Certification
of Election Results — The results of the election
shall be certified by a no less than three members of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame
Board. The
results shall be transmitted to the Chairman of the Board. The Women in Poker Hall of Fame and their
partners shall jointly release the results for publication.
9. Amendments
— The Board of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame reserves
the right to revoke, alter or amend these rules at any time.
